Wonder Woman the star among Warner Bros' expanding superhero franchise

Wonder Woman 2 was listed as part of the eight upcoming movies from the DC universe.

Cinema goers and superhero fans alike were blown away by the release of Wonder Woman earlier this year.

The film is not just a box office success, but has also won critical acclaim, even among the most discerning of fans: comic book nerds. The Patty Jenkins-directed film is also the highest-grossing live action film directed by a female director, according to The Verge. Wonder Woman would be coming to the USA this time around and the movie will likely to be set in modern times.

"The Israeli actress, who became a household name after playing the lead role in Wonder Woman", reached the No. 1 spot on The Hollywood Reporter's Top Actors chart last month.

The world obviously needs more "Wonder Woman".

Warner Bros made the inevitable announcement at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend. Fifty Shades Of Grey previously held the title for that. But before they hit their panel on July 21, Gal Gadot took a sec to whip out her phone and snap a selfie with her partners-in-[fighting]-crime. A sequel to Patty Jenkins' "Wonder Woman", the record-breaking superhero film, is in the making, CNN reported on Saturday.

One actress who could have been basking in all of this Wonder Woman glory is Charlize Theron. Her performance as Imperator Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road showed that she is more than capable of playing a fierce warrior. May we never doubt her power again. The movie has earned over $385 million so far.
