Amy Schumer To Captivate Broadway With Steve Martin's 'Meteor Shower'

It's a hot night in Ojai, California, and Corky (Schumer) and her husband Norm (Tudyk) are having another couple over for dinner. The show is shaping to be quite the amalgamation of hilarious personalities: Keegan-Michael Key is one of her costars, as is Laura Benanti (who won a Tony for Gypsy) and Alan Tudyk (Frozen, Wreck-It Ralph). This will mark Schumer's first every Broadway debut, and we are excited for what the actress, author and comedian is capable of on stage.

Schumer made the announcement on Instagram.

Reviews from the play's earlier iterations have been mixed, but its current director, Jerry Zaks (of Hello, Dolly! acclaim), said that it's in the process of being sharpened into a Broadway-caliber production.

'As the stars come out and the conversation gets rolling, cocktails flow, tempers flare, and sparks fly - literally'. Meteor Shower will be his second Broadway production following Bright Star, whichenjoyed a short Broadway run in 2016 and garnered Martin two Tony nominations. "I liked the idea of it-I liked the idea of a couple going to watch a meteor shower".
