Microsoft Surface Plus Financing Program Lets You Upgrade Very 18 Months

Microsoft's Surface Plus program will let you pay for the device in installments and upgrade after 18 months.

The Surface Plus program carries a 24-month payment plan at zero percent April for the first two years and a 19.99% April after that. Instead of paying the entire cost of a laptop or tablet upfront, this new plan spreads payments over two years on a contract. Every 18 months, you'll have the option to trade in your Surface for the latest and greatest model.

The gist of the program is that, when you buy any Surface, you'll have the option to enroll in a 24-month repayment plan at 0% interest. The main thing is the hardware you're intending to swap must be in "good condition". A month later, the situation hadn't improved much, with Microsoft stating that the other colors would be available "later this summer".

Dedicated Service & Support: Surface Plus offers best in class service and support from Microsoft Stores. The goal is to not only make it easier to buy Surface hardware but to also make it easier to upgrade to the next model when it is released; effectively locking you into the Surface brand in a similar way to the smartphone sales model carriers offer.

The program also comes with device services and support through Microsoft's retail locations and a year of free in-store technical assistance. If businesses choose the 30-month period, they can upgrade after 18 months.
