Damien Chazelle's multilingual musical drama 'The Eddy' lands at Netflix

According to the Guardian, Damien Chazelle will be executive producing the musical series, which will be about a club, its owner, and employees and the "chaotic city that surrounds them". The original music will be penned by six-time Grammy victor Glen Ballard, who has worked with Alanis Morisette and Michael Jackson. Today, Netflix announced they've ordered a new TV show from the Academy Award-winning director called The Eddy. It also once again shows that they are not anxious about the reported debt they're carrying around. The eight-episode series comes from IMG and will premiere exclusively to Netflix members around the world. 2018 is shaping up to be busy. "The Eddy" will follow a Paris club, its owner and house band.

Coming in the wake of "The Crown" and the upcoming series "Dark", "The Eddy" is Netflix's latest investment in global content being produced in Europe.

Vice president of global originals at Netflix Erik Barmack noted that from 'the intense, complex relationship between a jazz drummer and his instructor in Whiplash, to his dazzling duo of lovelorn Los Angelenos in La La Land, Damien's work is emotional and electrifying'.

US Closes Russian Consulate in San Francisco
Tillerson and Lavrov also agreed to a meeting in September, according to the official. On Friday, the consulate in San Francisco said it would stop operations a day early.

The Eddy, on the other hand, may have just procured a home with Netflix, but a release date has not been set with production set to commence in France sometime soon. He is now directing and exec-producing a musical for Netflix in collaboration with Emmy-winning producer Alan Poul.

The "La La Land" director is also working on "First Man", for which he will again direct Ryan Gosling, who will play Neil Armstrong in a movie based on the 2005 James Hansen book of the same name. 2016's La La Land was not only a love letter to jazz and Los Angeles, it also won him an Oscar for directing.
