Julia Louis-Dreyfus Goes Floral For HBO's Emmys After Party

Louis-Dreyfus made Emmy history by becoming the first performer to win six Emmys for the same role, having collected the best comedy actress prize for six straight years.

To round out the night, Lena Waithe was given a full standing ovation for being the first African-American female to win the award for best writing for a comedy series. She called her "Veep" role "the role of a lifetime and an adventure of utter joy".

After winning the award, while talking to the media backstage, Dreyfus told that she did not have the words to describe this moment, reports The Independent.

The ultimate victor has won eight Primetime Emmys for acting over the course of her career, in addition to three more Emmys for serving as a producer on Veep.

During her acceptance speech, Julia hinted at President Trump's possible future impeachment. She also joked about a potential storyline for the upcoming season.

Veep in its latest season inadvertently imitated life as Meyer nursed the loss of the White House, although the show largely has avoided parallels to Hillary Clinton and her unsuccessful campaign to be the first woman president.

"Quebec director Jean-Marc Vallee also won an Emmy for his work on" Big Little Lies".

Baldwin won the comedy supporting actor Emmy for his withering impersonations of Trump on Comcast Corp's NBC's satirical series "Saturday Night Live".
