Lewis backs Dalton despite historically bad Bengals start

Coach Marvin Lewis confirmed following Thursday's loss to the Texans that Dalton's job as the team's starting quarterback is safe, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.

The Bengals did not miss an extra point to get to nine either, which means they are touchdown-less on the season despite having played both their games in the friendly home confines of Paul Brown Stadium.

After a second consecutive dismal offensive performance to start the season, the Cincinnati Bengals are looking for answers on offense. Green was publicly vocal in expressing his distaste for the team's start to the season and suggested in part that he needs to get the ball more. The offensive line has not held up the way the Bengals hoped it might.

Cincinnati was shut out by the Baltimore Ravens in its season opener, 20-0.

The Bengals now have a bit of extra time to prepare for their Week 3 game, but they have to travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers - no easy task. Woes in pass protection have not helped things, as Dalton has been sacked eight times in two games and clearly appeared off-kilter throughout Thursday night's game.

Seamus Hughes of the George Washington University Program on Extremism said his team has identified 60 Americans, at least 20 of whom are dead.

As one of the leaders of the offense, I feel we need a spark and need the ball in my hands somewhere, somehow.

Whatever the case, Green isn't happy about his lack of opportunities, and the star wide receiver showed his frustration when meeting with the media after the Bengals' loss. "Whenever the ball is coming, I'm going to try to make a play".

The Bengals still do not have any touchdowns and they have played one eighth of their entire 2017 National Football League schedule. As the leader of the offense, you should be like that.

"This offense doesn't go without us, we have to be involved more early", Green said. "I wanted that ball".
