Pope Francis hopes President Trump re-thinks 'Dreamers' decision

Pope Francis hopes President Trump re-thinks 'Dreamers' decision

It was a final appeal to Colombians to overcome divisions that linger after the government previous year reached a peace deal with leftist rebels hoping to end Latin America's longest-running armed rebellion. "Well, I'll be reading them", said Trump, who nearly certainly didn't.

With regard to the peace process, Pope Francis said in different situations many groups must be integrated.

Following Jesus and sharing the good news of salvation in him, he said, means leaving one's comfort zone and going out, encountering others and concretely showing them God's love.

The pope admitted he hadn't read up fully on Trump's decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which protects 800,000 young people who were brought to the country illegally but grew up as Americans.

"The president of the United States presents himself as pro-life, and if he is a good pro-lifer, he understands that family is the cradle of life and its unity must be protected", Francis said. "It's like that, when you don't want to see, you don't see".

The Pope also recognized that DACA had come "from the executive and not from Congress", which allows legislators a chance to rethink the issue.

Penn State's James Franklin trashes Pittsburgh after win
Penn State's offense made sure of it. "Our offense is very explosive and that's kind of how we were again today", Franklin said. He marched the offense down the field last season at will and looked nearly unstoppable in this year's season opener.

But Francis' remarks on Monday suggested that the pope sees the pro-life movement as much bigger than disagreements over abortion.

"If someone is doubtful that this is true, they should ask scientists", the pope added, responding to questions about climate denialism.

Francis said scientists have also clearly charted what needed to be done to reverse course on global warming and said individuals and politicians had a "moral responsibility" to do their part. But he called attention to the suffering Mexico has endured, and called for prayer for that country.

On the flight back to Rome from Cartagena on September 10, Pope Francis addressed two questions that are much discussed in the United States today: the situation of the 800,000 Dreamers whose could face deportation and the moral responsibility of governments that deny climate change. But, he said, this is not enough. But he said governments have to manage refugee flows "with prudence", taking into account how many people it can successfully integrate into its society.

"What is the danger when a refugee or migrant is not integrated?". He suggested that countries might be only be able to accept a certain number of migrants before there is a danger of "non-integration". In unscripted comments at the last event of the day, he said he could not leave without mentioning the "painful memory" of "so many young lives truncated, discarded, destroyed".
