Texans File Over 600 Price Gouging Complaints Amid Harvey

More than 500 complaints concerning price gouging were received by the Texas Attorney General's office over the weekend as Hurricane Harvey pummeled the Texas coastline.

The AG's office has gotten 600 complaints related to the record-breaking hurricane as of Tuesday morning, a figure that's still rising, spokeswoman Kayleigh Lovvorn said.

One convenience store in Houston reportedly charged $20 for a gallon of gas, $8.50 for a bottle of water and $99 for a case of water, according to the Texas Attorney General's office.

Customers who become aware of direct evidence concerning price fixing or gouging is asked to contact the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division.
