Will Trump Fire Tom Price? President Upset by Health Secretary's Private Flights

While speaking to reporters on Wednesday, President Trump expressed displeasure with Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price's private jet use and said that he had communicated his displeasure to Secretary Price.

"The Committee is examining the extent to which non-career officials at federal departments and agencies either use government-owned aircraft for personal travel or private non-commercial aircraft for official travel", read a bipartisan letter sent to the White House Chief of Staff.

Earlier this month, it was disclosed that Price had repeatedly taken private flights while conducting government business, even though his predecessors had often taken commercial flights, according to Politico.

Price also traveled in June via chartered jet to Nashville, where he "spoke to a local health summit organized by a longtime friend" and had lunch with his son, Politico reported, citing an unnamed HHS official. Per the U.S. General Services Administration, with government discounts, the tickets would have cost between $102 and $333 roundtrip.

"I'm not happy with Tom". Another trip was from Dulles International Airport in the Washington suburbs to Philadelphia International Airport, a distance of 135 miles.

Wenger: Champions League Isn't As Good As It Used To Be
But last night, you could see he's coming back sharp and I left him on for 90 minutes so he could have a real go. West Brom have continued their consistency from last season, with a mean defence making them a strong opponent.

The HHS Office of Inspector General said last week that it has opened an investigation into his travel. 5 big ideas to halt America's opioid epidemic Aligning clinical and community resources improves health MORE said Tuesday that her successor's use of private chartered flights is "stunning". He actually gets very unfair press in that regard.

"I was looking into it and I will look into it".

Price, an ally of House Speaker Paul Ryan, is a past chairman of the House Budget Committee, where he was known as a frequent critic of wasteful spending. He's a former orthopedic surgeon who once practiced in an inner city hospital.

Democrats also pounced, with former colleagues in the Congress calling for Price's resignation. Reps. Ruben Gallego of Arizona, Ted Lieu of California, Brenda Lawrence of Michigan, Jamie Raskin of Maryland and Pramila Jayapal of Washington said in a letter that Price breached the public's trust. If other cabinet members turn out to have been following Price's lead, this narrative will, er, take off. "Not everybody can lease a plane like that and fly around the country".
