Donald Trump releases 'Stand for the National Anthem' petition

Almost 150 NFL players defiantly took a knee during the national anthem at their games Sunday while hundreds of other grid stars locked arms with their coaches - and even some team owners - in protest of President Trump, who had ripped the league over the weekend [9/24].

"The NFL has decided that she would force no players to stand up for our national anthem".

"We want our players to be standing and we will continue to encourage them to get up", he said, adding that the members of the meeting had not discussed any possible sanctions against players knelt.

On Wednesday morning, President Trump blasted the NFL over the controversy, tweeting that the league was showing "total disrespect".

"We all want everybody to stand", Mara said. And is said to be sensitive to the protests of the players that " speak of a reform of the judicial system, guarantees, penalties floor ".

Trump had previously cried out, 'Hillary, please run again!', as a follow-up to his tweet saying he hopes she runs for president in 2020.

"It bears repeating that we were remiss in not fully comprehending the effect of the national anthem demonstration occurring on foreign soil has had on the men and women who have or continue to serve our country", a letter dated October 6 from Lamping read.

Last weekend, players and coaching staff at German soccer team Hertha Berlin kneeled during their league match against Schalke, to show support for "an open-minded world".

The move came after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell this week rejected Trump's calls to punish players who kneel for the anthem to protest racism.

The most egregious oversight is that the Jaguars organization, like the leaders of the 31 other National Football League franchises, fears fan backlash more than it cares about how horrific social ills affect their players.

More players have begun kneeling since Trump criticized the practice, and some sympathetic teammates have linked arms with the kneelers while standing themselves. "We did not ask for that", Goodell said.
