Battle for Azeroth Expansion Takes Series Back To Its Core Fundamentals

Battle for Azeroth Expansion Takes Series Back To Its Core Fundamentals

There's now no release date for World of Warcraft Classic, but we'll likely be hearing more about the server as we head into 2018.

Arguably the face of the MMO/RPG's World of Warcraft gets a brand new cinematic trailer and as per usual it's absolutely incredible to watch even if you aren't a World of Warcraft die-hard.

Horde players will be able to travel to three new zones that comprise the islands of Zandalar and Alliance players will get their own three zones set within Kul Tiras.

For those wondering, vanilla World of Warcraft refers to World of Warcraft as it was - or roughly as it was - when the game shipped in 2004.

For longtime World of Warcraft fans, this is a dream come true. Alliance players can expect to forge alliances by fending off pirates and hunting giant sea monsters in Kul Tiras, whereas Horde players will gain new allies by fighting traitors and making deals with powerful gods and spirits in Zandalar.

StarCraft II Going Free to Play This Month
If you have already bought any of those, then you'll soon be receiving an exclusive Ghost skin and three new portrait options. While Wings of Liberty will go free on the 14th, players will still have to pay to access the other installments.

Blizzard announced World of Warcraft Classic during its BlizzCon 2017 keynote, which is a "classic" server option for WoW. All factions will work together within the confines of these new zones to recruit additional "allied races".

Battle Of Azeroth: What Does It Add To "World Of Warcraft"?

World of Warcraft was the focus of some major announcements at this weekend's BlizzCon in Anaheim, California. There are new playable Allied Races too, the Highmountain tauren, Void elves, Dark Iron dwarves and more. The upgrade brings with it two new continents, a new level gap, and a bunch of other features (you can find more details on the pack here).

Each World of Warcraft expansion comes with new features, usually in the form of new dungeons and raids, a raised level cap, a new PvP map, and plenty of new sweet, sweet loot. Additionally the Isle's of Azsroth will allow teams of three to explore and take loot while competing against others.

Game director Ion Hazzikostas took center stage to break the good news and explain a little bit about how it will work for those that may have skipped out on the latest expansion.
