Burnley 0-1 Arsenal

Alexis Sanchez scored his fourth goal of the season as the Chilean converted a last-gasp penalty to give Arsenal a 1-0 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor.

The result was harsh on Sean Dyche's side, having defended valiantly up until that point and looking like grabbing at least a point, before referee Lee Mason pointed to the spot after defender James Tarkowski pushed Aaron Ramsey.

City's gritty success reopened their advantage over second-placed Manchester United, who had temporarily closed the gap with a 1-0 win against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

Alexis Sanchez and Nacho Monreal had first half chances for the Gunners, with the latter skying a shot over the bar with vigor.

The leaders had controlled the first half yet found themselves behind in stoppage-time when a Tom Ince corner hit Otamendi on the shoulder and flashed into the net.

It was only the second away victory in the Premier League for the Gunners this season and came against a Burnley side that came into the game on a three-match winning streak, in which it had not conceded.
