Duterte, Philippine President, Boasts He Killed Someone as a Teenager

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said in a speech in Vietnam that he stabbed someone to death when he was 16.

Describing economic security as national security, Trump outlined his vision of a "free and open Indo-Pacific", where all countries played by the rules and engaged in fair trade to achieve prosperity. He said a charitable reading of the meeting would be that Duterte was alluding to human rights issues when he said the drug war was important as an issue of "human development".

"I said, 'I will not explain".

Before boarding Air Force One en route back to Washington on Tuesday, Trump spoke briefly with reporters.

"And he will come through loud and clear", the official said, adding the U.S. president "will be talking specifically about the importance of navigation and expressing concern about the militarization of features in the South China Sea".

Duterte often seeks to have visitors pose for photos with him doing the salute, with Chinese internet tycoon Jack Ma and Hollywood actor Steven Seagal among those pictured doing so.

Since Duterte's inauguration previous year, police and affiliated death squads have summarily executed more than 8,000 suspected drug users.

"We've made some very big steps with regard to trade - far bigger than anything you know", Trump told reporters at the beginning of the meeting in Manila, touting business deals forged between United States and foreign companies.

Two days later, he will host Trump and other world leaders at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, summit, with a 50th-anniversary gala.

So there is a chance the Galaxy A series for 2018 could come with a new "Infinity Display" without any home button on the front. The Galaxy A5 (2018) is expected to boast 5.5-inch screen having full HD+ (2160x1080p) resolution and 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

Australia's spy chief, Nick Warner, was criticised when he returned home from Manila in August to find the Philippine government had released photos of him clenching his fist with Duterte.

Though the USA administration has been under pressure to raise Duterte's drug war in Manila, Trump will likely focus on building rapport and personal friendship with his Filipino counterpart. And he will meet with Australian Prime Minister Malcom Turnbull, with whom he had a contentious phone call this spring.

Hours after being sworn in as Philippine president, Duterte goes to a Manila slum and urges residents to kill drug-addled neighbors.

According to Duterte, he has renewed his friendship with the two countries.

Adding to a sense of supreme confidence ahead of the event, Duterte on Thursday also proposed hosting a global summit on human rights in which all nations would be placed under the microscope.

Thanking ASEAN and worldwide friends for providing assistance, the President said they were now in the process of helping people back on their feet to reclaim their lives. "This is a different level of shamelessness, hypocrisy and pretense", Palabay said.

In particular, this was due to the Trump administration's explicit and conscious decision to prioritise strategic cooperation with Asian allies over promotion of human rights and democracy values.

But Trump remains dogged by things he has said, and has not said, about Russian Federation.
