They're urging people to get a flu shot now before it gets any worse in our own community.

The flu started circulating in Clark County a little earlier than usual a year ago, with activity picking up at the end of October.

People who experience flu symptoms should contact their doctor.

The flu is a contagious respiratory infection caused by the influenza virus that often comes on suddenly.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends that essentially everyone over 6-months of age should receive the flu vaccine.
