OnePlus 5T won't come with wireless charging support, confirms CEO

CEO also announced that OnePlus 5T will not support wireless charging which seems old school as most of the flagship phones support wireless charging nowadays but Mr. Lau has an explanation for this.

Following a widely circulated report that the soon-to-arrive OnePlus 5T would NOT see a price increase over the RRP of the OnePlus 5, the company's CEO Pete Lau took to Twitter with a statement that could be interpreted as a warning to expect a price increase after all.

He reasoned that the maximum theoretical power delivered by wireless charging pads is around 15 watts which is 5 watts less than the dash charger company uses. He points out that wireless charging requires you to keep your device perfectly aligned with the charging mat to get the quickest charging speeds, which does to some extent defeat the convenience of just putting the phone down and letting it charge.

Bennett's tenure with Packers ends in weird fashion
He had just 24 catches for 233 yards and no touchdowns in this his first season for Green Bay. Bennett's time in Green Bay came to an end Wednesday, according to ESPN's Field Yates .

It is to be noted that even Google has not yet accepted the idea of wireless charging completely since it has not been integrated into the recently launched Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones. So which one would you choose? "Just plug your device in, and Dash Charge produces 20 watts of power, reliably giving a day's power in half an hour", he said. Lau also pointed out that Dash Charge only needs a cable and adaptor in order to work and users won't have to worry about buying any other accessories. Where, with Dash Charge they can pick it up and reply to texts, play games and work on several apps simultaneously. You can watch the video here:

OnePlus has also mentioned the key dates for the sale and availability of the phone. So, it looks certain that the OnePlus 5T would ship with a small price bump. The end result is the ability to charge the smartphone within 30 minutes. "Samsung's display technology is now the best for Optic AMOLED". For the purposes of this post, "wireless charging" refers to the more prevalent Qi standard. First, it was rumored that the OnePlus 5T will have exactly same price as of OnePlus 5 but again, those were only rumors. Given present-day infrastructures, wireless charging brings more limitations than freedom. For the time being, we think it's best to stick with the headphone jack.
