Woman pleads guilty to marrying her mother after they 'hit it off'

Misty Spann, 26, will spend 10 years on probation for illegally marrying her mother, 44-year-old Patricia Spann, who is identified as Patricia Clayton on their marriage license application, filed in March 2016, online records show.

Misty was given a 10-year suspended jail sentence after admitting incest at Stephens County Court this week, reported Tulsa World.

An Oklahoma Department of Human Services child welfare investigator discovered information that led her to believe that Misty and Patricia Spann's relationship was incestuous, according to Tulsa World. The young woman claimed Patricia told her she had received legal advice about whether they could get hitched and assured Misty it could happen.

Patricia genuinely thought she wasn't doing anything wrong because she wasn't legally Misty's mum and had been removed from her daughter's birth certificate.

Patricia Spann told investigators that she lost custody of her three children, but reconnected with them in 2014.

What's perhaps most shocking of all is that this isn't the first time Patricia has been caught in a romantic relationship with one of her children.

Syria plans to join Paris climate change agreement, isolating US
On Oct. 23, Nicaragua announced it would join the Paris accord, despite its previous reservations. This makes the United States the only country on the planet not a part of the climate deal.

The mother, who reportedly was once married to her biological son as well, is set to appear in court in January 2018 to face her charges.

After Misty was convinced, the pair married in March previous year in Oklahoma.

That marriage was annulled two years later by the son, on the basis that it was incestuous. "She forced my sister into this, there's a lot of people that know it", he told KWSO. "When I went to school with her, she had a girlfriend, and they both worked at Sonic".

According the NBC affiliate in Oklahoma City KFOR, in September 2016, Patricia and Misty Spann were arrested for incest. "Why would you want to be with one of your own kids?"
