Shimla Superintendent of Police Somiya Sambasiban informed UNI that a FIR has been registered against Ms Kumari under section 353 and 332 of IPC on the complaint of police constable Lajwanti for hurting and preventing her to discharge her duty at Congress office.

A video involving former minister and Congress MLA from Dalhousie, Asha Kumari allegedly slapping a woman constable, amid jostling by Congress workers has gone viral on social media. "I apologize", Asha Kumari said to ANI. "She (woman constable) abused me and pushed me, she should have shown restraint, I am her mother's age, but yes I agree I should not have lost my temper". The constable's response left the MLA shocked. The leader said in a meeting that such behaviour will not be tolerated in the party.

At a Congress meeting later, Rahul said it was not Congress culture to slap anybody.
