Garrison Keillor says he's been fired for alleged improper behavior

Minnesota Public Radio confirmed Keillor had been fired, saying it received a single allegation against Keillor about "inappropriate behavior" and didn't know of any other allegations.

He told the Minneapolis Star Tribune he was trying to console a woman when the alleged incident happened.

The AP noted that, though Keillor retired from his post at "A Prairie Home Companion" a year ago, he had continued producing "The Writers Almanac" for syndication.

Keillor's dismissal comes only a day after he published an op-ed column in The Washington Post in support of fellow Minnesotan Al Franken, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by four women.

I feel like seeing you guys go through everything, it's great knowledge". Khloe said, "I think I'm thankful for having so many generations here.

"We were notified at about 12:30 today that Garrison Keillor has canceled his appearance tonight at the Warner", she said. Eleven years later, a talk show host in L.A., she goes public with her embarrassment, and there is talk of resignation. He says her shirt was open and that his hand went up it about six inches. "We should be careful...not to make the world so fine and good that you and I can't enjoy living in it", he said. "In addition, MPR retained an outside law firm to conduct an independent investigation of the allegations. We were friends. We continued to be friendly right up until her lawyer called". "Based on what we now know, there are no similar allegations involving other staff", the statement said. Keillor argued that the photo of Franken pretending to grab radio host Leeann Tweeden's breasts during a USO trip was done "in a spirit of low comedy", and talk of the Democratic senator resigning is "pure absurdity" that leads to "a code of public deadliness".

Considering Keillor's huge popularity among public radio diehards, this dramatic break suggests that the allegations against Keillor are severe.

But Keillor now faces that judgment for real.

For decades, Keillor has stood as a standard-bearer of midwestern values and the non-confrontational, tote-bag carrying culture of public media. What other seemingly-benign media figure has skeletons in their closet, stacked alongside shelves of Powdermilk Biscuits? Popular segments included "Guy Noir, Private Eye", the "Sounding Off" sound-effects story, and commercials for parody sponsors Powdermilk Biscuits and Beebopareebop Rhubarb Pie.
