Missing Florida teen found with soccer coach in Syracuse

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office now says Caitlyn was found safe this afternoon, but did not immediately provide more information.

On Friday afternoon, a New York State Police officer in Syracuse spotted the vehicle the two were believed to have fled in, the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Mark Hunter didn't detail the relationship between Frisina and Rodriguez and said his primary focus was to bring the teen home safely.

Rodriguez could face criminal charges, according to reports, and was arrested on a warrant issued for interfering with child custody.

The incident began Sunday when Frisina's parents reported her missing.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office tweeted that she had been found. Investigators say she was seen on surveillance video with 27-year-old Rian Rodriguez, who is a boy's soccer coach at Fort White High School, where Frisina is a senior and played on the girls' soccer team. It's believed she had left voluntarily with him.

The 17-year-old climbed out her bedroom window on Saturday night and left behind her cell phone, which had been wiped clean of data. "But I absolutely believe that she was lied to and totally misled", her mother, Scarlet Frisina, told CBS News, earlier on Friday.

Officials at Fort White High School have suspended Rodriguez.

"Video from the store showed Rian and Caitlyn, which confirmed to us they were together", Hunter said. As of Friday, the teen was being held in police custody until a reunion with her family could be arranged.
