'New Year's Rocking Eve 2018' to Feature Mariah Carey, BTS and More

"Last year wasn't as planned". Details about this year's event have been dropped this week, teasing yet another festive New Year's Day celebration for everyone.

Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy weighed in on Mariah Carey's return to perform on New Year's Eve after her disastrous performance last year.

But it also led to a public spat between the best-selling singer and Dick Clark Productions as to who was at fault.

Other performances set for the show include: Camila Cabello, Nick Jonas, and a remote appearance from Britney Spears at her Piece Of Me show in Las Vegas.

Arctic cold front on the move
With flying snow kicking off the holiday weekend, winter weather will see out 2017 and welcome the new year. Temperatures climbed into the low 20s as opposed to the upper teens to near 20 degrees on Thursday .

In Carey's 2016 performance, the pop star claimed she couldn't hear the music and stopped singing on live television when footage aired that showed her clearly lip syncing. 'See you in Times Square!' The pop diva confirmed that she will return to Times Square in NY to ring in 2018, a year after she was humiliated by technical issues at the annual televised ball-drop.

For fans wanting to ring in the new year while watching performances from favorite artists, there are some strong options heading into 2018. Ryan Seacrest will host the countdown festivities, as he has for the past 12 years.

Lucy Hale will be hosting in New Orleans. She's going to do a couple of songs, one of which will be "Hero' right before midnight outside in that cold", Seacrest said.
