Salman Khan Tops Forbes India's 2017 List

Despite many new and surprising entries in the list, Dabangg Khan was able to maintain his position followed by Shah Rukh Khan and Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

Having already left a legacy in the game, despite playing less than a decade of worldwide cricket, Kohli is one of the most sought-after brands in the sport, and an icon for budding cricketers and the youth of the country.

The cumulative earnings of the top three have declined by nearly 20 per cent from Rs 626.52 crore last year to Rs 504.05 crore this year.

The Bollywood's Sultan Salman Khan has once again topped the spot in Forbes India Celebrity 100 list for the second consecutive year. Kohli features at number 3 in the Forbes India list of Celebrity 100. Salman has earned Rs 232.83 crore with several endorsements of consumer-facing brands. He shared the slot with ace cricketer Sachin Tendulkar who earned Rs 82.5 crore. Shuttler PV Sindhu (₹57.25 crore) was the highest money gainer (in percentage terms) this year in the list, as her total earnings soared almost 17 times following her 2016 Rio Olympics silver medal. Moreover, he has close to 20 brands to his name for his endorsements.

Facebook improves how blind can 'see' images using AI
The newest features start rolling out Tuesday, in all markets where facial recognition features are now allowed on Facebook . Every time a photo or video gets uploaded to its system, Facebook compares those images with the template to alert users.

Holding their previous positions are Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Virat Kohli.

In the top 10, the only female presence is that of the Indian global icon Priyanka Chopra who has reportedly minted Rs 68 crore this year, credits to her worldwide film projects, endorsements, TV shows etc. However, there is a huge difference in the income of the two cricketers. Shah Rukh Khan is producing a Netflix show, Saif Ali Khan is starring one and R Madhavan is a part of an Amazon Prime project.

Priyanka Chopra was the only woman in the top ten having earned ₹68 crore while Deepika Padukone missed it by a small margin (she earned ₹59.45 crore). Dhoni fell from rank five in 2016 to eight this year with Rs 63.77 crore. Interestingly, Virat is the youngest among the top 10 in this list.
