Nick Kyrgios stays calm to land timely title

Nick Kyrgios of Australia is seen with the trophy after winning the men's Final against Ryan Harrison of the U.S. at the Brisbane International Tennis Tournament in Brisbane, Sunday, January 7, 2018.

Carrying a niggling knee injury, Kyrgios made a slow start and was forced to save five break points before he managed to carve out own his first break in the seventh game.

Kyrgios fired 19 aces - won 82 percent of his first serve points - converted 3-of-6 of his break point chances and saved 1-of-2 of Dimitrov's break point opportunities in just over an hour and a half of action.

Kyrgios bowed out of the Australian Open in the second round previous year after squandering a two-set lead over Italian Andreas Seppi, an experience he said "left a bad taste in his mouth".

Nick Kyrgios downed American Ryan Harrison 6-4, 6-2 to win the Brisbane International yesterday.

While surprised not to see Tomic in Brisbane, Kyrgios appeared to be the only one not shocked by De Minaur's semi-final berth. "He had a great past year — beat me two times", Krygios said. Kyrgios, however, rose to the occasion for the win. "I felt right at home", Kyrgios told the crowd afterwards.

"You have some of your biggest highs and then you've got some matches where you finish and you're a little bit heartbroken", de Minaur said.

Jon Gruden is the Raiders coach
The Buccaneers ended the 2008 season with four losses in a row, and Gruden was sacked following the season. Gruden has been gathering a coaching staff in advance of Tuesday's expected announcement.

However, after saving five break points early in the contest, Kyrgios soon took charge of proceedings and ultimately won easily.

The 29-year-old German was in sparkling form, firing 41 winners and making just 23 unforced errors to win 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) after 90 minutes on court.

Can Kyrgios make his first tournament final on home soil.

De Minaur, who defeated former Wimbledon finalist Milos Raonic in the second round, was two points from another upset when he led 5-3 in the second-set tiebreaker.

Dimitrov, who beat Britain's Kyle Edmund in the quarter-final, took the opening set but Kyrgios responded in style.

Yet the Bulgarian looked like extending his unbeaten streak to three matches against Kyrgios at Pat Rafter Arena on Saturday.
