Apple announces March 27th education-focused event in Chicago

Apple announces March 27th education-focused event in Chicago

Apple has found themselves in a bit of hot water recently due to the admittance that they were, indeed, slowing down older phones. Apple is working to correct the issue with discounted battery replacements and the introduction of a new feature with iOS 11.3 that will allow users of older iPhones to turn off throttling with the understanding that their device may start to crash. It's highly likely that whatever Apple announces will be focused on education.

As usual, the invitation was thin on details - Apple is notoriously silent about future products and programs.

It looks like Apple will have a first-quarter announcement after all.

A dog died on a United Airlines plane after a flight attendant ordered its owner to put the animal in the plane's overhead bin. Also, according to the DOT report for 2017 , several of the animals had pre-existing health issues such as heart disease.

As for what we might see at the event, you can certainly expect software, such as improvements to Apple's Classroom app.

Microsoft attempted to recover some of the market with an education-focused event previous year, and the launch of the Surface Laptop, but that still costs considerably more than most Chromebooks. New iPads have been rumored for later this year as well, but it's unlikely that an education-focused iPad would include the new and expensive FaceID camera. In 2012, Apple held an event in New York City to talk about education, where it unveiled its iBooks 2 platform, its tool for making and publishing books online, but even that event was all about the iPad. The Apple iPad devices also feature Swift Playgrounds, which acts as a code education platform.
