Backstage News On Brock Lesnar's Status, Ronda Rousey Joining Paul Heyman?

Remember back at WrestleMania XX in 2004 when the entire crowd booed Lesnar and Goldberg out of the building because everyone knew both of them were leaving WWE?

Lesnar did not appear on Raw despite being advertised for the show, and with his WWE contract reportedly set to expire just after WrestleMania 34, White could be making a move to secure Lesnar's services before Vince McMahon can.

WWE.com picked up Paul Heyman's confirmation that Lesnar will be at Chicago for the live house show, labelling it as Heyman addressing Brock Lesnar's future. "Ask Braun Strowman, ask Randy Orton, ask 'The Undertaker, ' Brock Lesnar does what Brock Lesnar wants to do".

The fallout from Sunday's Elimination Chamber spilled over into Raw Monday as new No. 1 contender Roman Reigns prepared to meet Universal Champion Brock Lesnar face-to-face.

WrestleMania 34 is just 40 days away, and Lesnar is in nearly the same position he found himself in three years ago. Lesnar was told to stay away from Raw so that people bought into the Reigns promo and believe there to be a legitimate beef between the two.

Sports Illustrated reports that Lesnar has maxed out his contractual obligations in terms of appearances with the company and is now focused on negotiating his next contract. He is also aware that he'll be losing the title to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.

Who knows what Lesnar has in store now that his deal is nearly up?

Now, let's get to what happened on Monday's Raw.

The segment was supposed to go down during the second hour of RAW and at one point would have Lesnar call Reigns a "bitch". It was reported by Dave Meltzer of F4Wonline.com that Lesnar being nixed from the show may have been a creative change made at the last minute.

WWE's goal for WrestleMania is to get Reigns cheered by fans in the lead-up to the match so that he receives a positive reaction when he wins the title.

The "WrestleMania" main event that seemed destined to be a disaster now has a chance to work, and it could be due in part to Reigns getting "real" over these next few weeks.
