PlayStation 4 5.50 update finally out of beta, now available for everybody

Despite previous reports from Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida claiming thatDays Gone would release in 2018, it has now been delayed to 2019. The update is 459MB.

Another nice new feature is better control of the library. The children who are playing on the console are warned when their play session is nearly over, allowing them to find a save point or safe logout point before running out of time. You can now organize the games you own and the games that are installed as well as view what games you have obtained through Sony's PlayStation Plus program. A tab with the name/avatar of the now logged in profile will show the games and apps that are owned by that specific person, even if they aren't installed. If your PS Plus membership is expired, a PS Plus icon with a lock will appear next to your game so you know which games you can play if you re-subscribe. There's also the ability to hide betas and demos from the library, which is a welcome addition.

With this update, there is a new "Supersampling Mode" option added to the Video Output Settings menu that players can activate whenever.

With supersampling mode, some games will render at a higher resolution and then be downscaled to match the HDTV - allowing PS4 Pro owners to leverage the benefits of an image clarity boost even if their PS4 Pro is not connected to a 4K TV.

PS4 Pro users taking part in the beta will see a new "supersampling mode" under Settings, which enables those with HDTVs (i.e., 1080p or less) to enjoy an enhanced visual experience when playing some PS4 games. And when you're on the Media Player or the USB Music Player, "triangle" will work as the shortcut for play or pause, and the "square" button as the volume control. They can also access custom-made friends lists from the Quick Menu and old notifications can be permanently removed.

Adding custom wallpapers - Download a picture onto your USB drive in a folder named "images", navigate to the pathway on your console, then crop your picture to your liking. USGamer reached out to Sony earlier today and they had this to say: "Days Gone will now be releasing in 2019 and we will keep you updated on the launch date".

Sony will likely update fans on future updates regarding Days Gone during the long wait time, but as of now eager gamers that like zombie-survival titles will have to wait an extra year. We've got you covered. This 460MB update brings a lot of new goodies to the table, some of which we've been clamoring for since the console's release.
