Richard Sherman To Meet With 49ers On Saturday

The first stop? The San Francisco 49ers.

Sherman, brash and loquacious, had a contentious relationship with former 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh, his coach at Stanford, and delighted in needling the man he once termed "the bully" after Seahawks wins. And while multiple reports have linked Sherman to the New England Patriots, there's a "real chance" the 29-year-old stays in the NFC West, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Saturday, citing sources. If the 49ers are satisfied enough with what the physical shows and the two sides can agree on compensation then Sherman could be a 49er by the end of the weekend, it appears.

Third-year corner James Bradberry would benefit from having a player and leader of Sherman's caliber on the roster. 49ers GM John Lynch is also a Stanford grad and talked to Sherman often during his years as an analyst for National Football League games for FOX. He's very familiar to defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, who was an assistant with the Seahawks from 2011-2013. They've got their own flavor to it.

Jessica Jones Season 2 Is About The Importance Of Listening To Women
Griffin is friendly, even to Jessica , and appears to deeply care about Trish. "Well, I think Jessica was pretty well received". McTeer's character will be introduced in the third episode of Season 2, and she clearly has a connection to Jessica's past.

Sherman's release was a cost-cutting move. Sherman was scheduled to earn an $11.4 base salary in 2018. The release of Lane saves Seattle $4.75 million against the cap in 2018 assuming it is not made with a post-June 1 designation.

The 49ers are in need of cornerbacks and are expected to land a veteran in the coming week whether it is Sherman or someone else.

Smith is slated to make over $8 million next season, but if the team cuts him, they will be freed from all of that money. On Friday, Sherman told ESPN's Josina Anderson he will be back running on the treadmill next week.
