Tiger Woods to play Valspar Championship and Arnold Palmer Invitational

Continuing to prove health is not an issue, Tiger Woods has committed to play next week's Valspar Championship which will set up his second back-to-back of the year as he plans to play the Arnold Palmer Invitational, as well.

This will be the first time Woods, working his way back after a fourth back surgery, has played in the PGA Tour's annual stop in Pinellas County, though he played at Innisbrook when the course hosted the JCPenney Classic, a mixed-team event, in the 1990s. "The more I play tournament golf, the better I'll get at it".

Tiger Woods is adding another tournament as he tries to ready his game for the Masters.

It will be his first time participating in the event.

Woods has missed the Masters three of the last four years because of four back operations, the most recent a fusion surgery last April.

The now 42-year old Woods has contested three events since returning to full-time competition finishing T23rd at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, missing the cut at the Genesis Open and then sharing 12th place last week at the Honda Classic.

National Basketball Association expresses shock and sadness at death of longtime agent Dan Fegan
Fegan, 56, had represented players including Dwight Howard , John Wall , Demarcus Cousins , Nene and Ricky Rubio. A 29-year-old woman from California and Fegan's 5-year-old son were in the SUV at the time of the collision.

"I've been away from tournament golf for so long that I'm starting to feel the rounds", Woods said Sunday following the Honda Classic.

Woods is an eight-time victor at Bay Hill, where he has not played since he won in 2013.

"I don't think he's all the way there and all the way back".

"I need to keep building on it", Woods said.

Woods also said he would play the following week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, a tournament he has won eight times, most recently as part of his five-victory season in 2013. "And I feel like I'm right on track for that".

Other marquee names in the Valspar field include Jordan Spieth and Sergio Garcia, while one would-be alternate won't be around for the festivities.
