Barbara Bush won't seek more medical treatment after hospitalizations

Former first lady Barbara Bush's health is failing and she will not seek additional medical care, a spokesman for the Bush family said Sunday.

Bush would travel the world representing the US before turning their sights to The White House, first as the Vice President and Second Lady during the Ronald Reagan administration, then the 1988 Presidential election.

She has always been considered the rock at the center of one of America's most prominent political families, as the wife of a president, the mother of another, George W. Bush, and the mother also of a former Florida governor and onetime presidential aspirant, Jeb Bush.

Tornado Watch and Blizzard Warning issued in Kansas
The National Weather Service says as much as 18 inches of snow could fall on northern parts of Nebraska by Saturday evening. A winter storm is bringing snow to northwest Kansas along with strong winds that will create blizzard conditions.

In a statement, the spokesman said Bush, 92, would instead focus on "comfort care" after consulting with doctors and family members. She is the mother of George W. Bush, the 43rd president of the United States.

Husband George, the nation's 41st president, is now 93 years old and struggling with a Parkinson's-like disease that forces him to use a wheelchair and makes it hard for him to speak. She was also hospitalized after experiencing fatigue and coughing. The other was Abigail Adams, wife of John Adams and mother of John Quincy Adams. They are the longest married couple in presidential history.

Eight years after she and her husband left the White House, Mrs. He also served as a congressman, Central Intelligence Agency director and Ronald Reagan's vice president. Her son George said that a "crowning achievement" of his father, who was fond of coming up with nicknames for friends and family, was anointing Barbara, "The Silver Fox". She married at age 19 while George Bush was a young naval aviator.
