Moto G6 and E5 detailed in full (Plus and Play, too)

Motorola is a reliable brand, and the Moto G and E are two of its best-selling smartphones.

Like the E6 phones, both the Moto E5 Play and Moto E5 Plus have front and back cameras, Snapgdragon processors, and fingerprint readers but some features are specific to just the Moto E5 Plus like face-detection, burst shot ability and Laser Autofocus. The lower-end G6 Play will cost $199, and the regular G6 (shown above) will cost $249. In typical Motorola fashion, all four devices share consistent design themes.

It's a nice touch that lets you hide the Android notification buttons so they get out of the way of your apps and content on the screen.

While Moto's G-Series smartphones are synonymous with affordability, the new G6 mobes are the firm's most-expensive yet, with the highest-spec Moto G6 Plus fetching £269. The Moto G6 has followed the wider trend of offering an 18:9 aspect ratio with a display that measures 5.7in corner to corner, and it surrounds this all with a glass and aluminium body that features a dual-rear camera.

The Moto G6 has a dual-lens camera. Simply tap the color on the viewfinder you want to preserve, and the G6 will artfully hone in on it.

The Moto G6 is a great looking budget handset.

Motorola also did not say when the Beta Experiences program will launch. In the case of Smart Camera, though, everything occurs seamlessly in the camera UI.

In addition, both cameras are able to recognize landscapes and objects. The list includes Moto Z, Moto Z2 Play, Z Force, Moto X4, Moto G5, Moto G5 Plus, Moto G5S, Moto G5S Plus, and Moto G4 Plus. It is powered by a Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 mobile platform. Not all the phones are budget prices any more but they're a lot cheaper than many mid-range devices from the likes of Honor and we're impressed. GAO: EPA violated spending laws building soundproof booth in Pruitt's office
The agency will be sending the required information to lawmakers this week related to Pruitt's phone booth. They blasted the EPA chief after the decision was released today.

As you might expect, there are some key differences between the three G6 phones when it comes to power, as well. The user-facing camera has an 8-MP sensor and the world-facing picture-taker is a 12-MP unit. It really feels like a refreshed Moto E4, not a part of the E5 family. The E5 Play is the entry-level model with 2800mAh battery, 2GB of memory, a 5.2-inch HD LCD display and weighs just 150 grams.

That's disappointing, considering the E4 Plus was one of the longest-lasting smartphones we tested a year ago, yet still cost just $179.

Motorola does add a few extra features in its version of Android running on the Moto G6, like gestures that act as shortcuts for the camera and flashlight.

The Moto E5 Play (right) lacks the slim bezels of the Moto E5 Plus (left). It's the G6 Play that's a little different with the headphone jack on the top and the fingerprint scanner on the rear.

What excites us most, however, is the battery.

Motorola said last month that it will be announcing new products in April. The phones are hefty, at 200 and 174 grams respectively, and that purely comes down to their massive batteries - 5000mAh on the E5 Plus, and 4000mAh on the E5.

The E5 Play has a 2800 mAh battery which can be charged via the provided 10 W charger. The phone will be available in Europe, the Americas and the Asia Pacific. And taking pride of place on the back are the two new cameras, accented by an etched circle and covered in glass.
