The Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus are keeping a bottom home button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner, but the Moto G6 Play drops the physical button and moves the fingerprint scanner to the rear of the device. Ahead of the launch, full specs and prices of both the G6 series phones have been leaked online. With the standard Moto G6 likely to start shipping a week before the Play version does. As per the listing, the Moto G6 will be priced around $249 which roughly translates to Rs 16,000. Talking about the pricing first, the listing reveals that both the Moto G6 and G6 Play are going to be budget segment phones.

The promotional images of the Moto G6 series don't reveal any features about the phone and except the elongated 18:9 aspect ratio display and dual camera setup on the Moto G6 Plus.

It has an LED flash enabled rear camera of 12-megapixel. Its other features are Android 8.0 Oreo, single-SIM/dual-SIM variants, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, Global Positioning System and 3,000mAh battery with Turbo charging. These smartphones are also said to feature a facial recognition technology just like many others being launched of late. MWC came and went without any new phones, but it's looking like Moto has the latest generation of its iconic "G" series on the way... This will be backed by 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB storage variants.

As a $50 price difference might suggest, these two phones are expected to be more similar than different overall, although there will be a number of fundamental differences between them. Juicing up the device could be a slightly bigger 3,200mAh battery that's also charged with Motorola's TurboPower charger. The previous reports have tipped that the Moto G6 could feature a single camera while the Moto G6 Plus and G6 Play could have a dual-camera setup at the rear. As for the availability details, Moto G6 is expected to ship starting May 17, which hints at April launch of the phone.
