Snapchat harnesses TrueDepth on iPhone X for ultra-realistic Lenses

Snapchat harnesses TrueDepth on iPhone X for ultra-realistic Lenses

When Apple launched its latest iPhone X flagship smartphone a year ago, it also announced new Snapchat AR Lenses which will be exclusive to the device. Following the latest update, iPhone X owners who use Snapchat will now be able to enjoy AR masks that fit on the user's face more realistically and also track motion more accurately.

These are the exclusive lenses developed for the iPhone X and its all-screen display.

Out of the blue, Snapchat started actualizing Apple's TrueDepth camera technology in its Lenses selfie highlight.

Snap said that the Lenses reflect surrounding light in a more realistic manner and add a touch of blur to the background.

This lens puts slaps a bejeweled mask encrusted with diamonds on your face and a flower crown on your head. Apple's TrueDepth camera technology is the same technology that powers Apple's Animojis and Face ID. And, the mathematical representation of that data (used for unlocking the iPhone X through Face ID) is kept out of developers' reach.

Researchers look at cannabis and prescription heroin to tackle opioid crisis
At MedShadow, she reports on new findings and research on the side effects of prescription drugs. She added the goal of the program is not complete abstinence or sobriety, but harm reduction.

The last of the new Snapchat lenses covers your entire face with what looks to be porcelain and a gold-colored rose crown. The same will provide you more realistic graphics on to your face and the masks will look more natural compared to other lenses for different devices.

There was news that Apple might be sharing facial mapping data to develop these lenses further.

However Apple also ensured that this data can never be used for advertising or marketing, and that it cannot be bundled and sold to analytics companies or data brokers.

In the developer agreement, Apple has clearly mentioned that the data fetched can not be used for advertising and marketing purposes, keeping the security issues in mind.

Nevertheless, the third-party developers will have access to 50 facial expressions that could inform them how the user raises the eyebrows or moves the mouth. There are reports that Apple's advanced biometric security solution could be integrated into more products, starting with the iPad Pro.
