Cosby's wife wants probe of prosecutor

Cosby's wife wants probe of prosecutor

During the public scrutiny, Bill's wife, Camille Cosby stood by his side. He was expelled on Thursday from the motion picture academy and the Advertising Hall of Fame.

Her remarks came a week after a jury of seven men and five women convicted her husband on three counts of aggravated indecent assault tied to his 2004 attack on Constand, a former Temple University employee.

Once again, an innocent person has been found guilty based on an unthinking, unquestioning, unconstitutional frenzy propagated by the media and allowed to play out in a supposed court of law. "This is mob justice, not real justice".

While there haven't been any new Bill and Camille Cosby divorce rumors swirling since Bill's conviction, multiple social media users reacted to Camille's statement, opining that instead of standing by Bill, she should divorce him instead.

She went on to target Andrea Constand - Bill Cosby's chief accuser and the only one of dozens whose statute of limitations had not run out - saying her testimony was "riddled with innumerable, dishonest contradictions" and accusing her of lying to extort money from her husband.

Cosby is on house arrest while awaiting sentencing. His lawyers have vowed to appeal.

Camille Cosby's statement Thursday was equally biting and directed her ire at numerous same targets.

"Twelve honorable jurors - peers of Cosby - have spoken", lawyer Dolores Troiani said. "There's nothing else to say".

Constand said in a tweet last week that "Truth prevails". She has long defended her husband against his multitude of accusers, previously arguing that he is the actual victim and that the encounters were consensual. The killers, meanwhile, were acquitted.

Camille Cosby stayed away from both of her husband's trials, except for the defense's closing arguments. McMonagle later parted ways with Bill Cosby before his second trial. They embraced, smiled and chatted, and he gave her a peck on the cheek. Cosby wound up settling for almost $3.4 million after giving four days of depositions, including testimony about giving quaaludes to women before sex, that a juror said Monday was instrumental in his conviction.

She also compared her husband's case to that of a man who was wrongly accused of rape and called for a criminal investigation of the district attorney and his cohorts, branding them as "exploitive" and "corrupt". Rose was sacked as "CBS This Morning" anchor and PBS canceled his interview show after an earlier Post report on women who said he groped them, made lewd remarks or walked around naked around them.

Referring to Steele and his "cohorts", she continued, "This is a homogeneous group of exploitive (sic) and corrupt people, whose primary goal is to advance themselves professionally and economically at the expense of Mr. Cosby's life".

The Marian Anderson Award board announced Thursday they have rescinded Cosby's award that he received in 2010.

She described Steele, who declined to respond Thursday, as "unethical".
