Logan's James Mangold Is Making A Boba Fett Star Wars Spin-Off Movie

The report came Thursday, the day before Lucasfilm and Disney released their latest spinoff film, "Solo: A Star Wars Story". If we got an R-rated Star Wars films that really dug into some seedy territory it would give the franchise a new direction for sure, and open up the world of the original trilogy a bit more instead of just replicating it. As The Hollywood Reporter revealed a year ago, Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Hours) is now in talks to direct an Obi-Wan spinoff.

James Mangold - director of Logan - will write and direct Star Wars' Boba Fett stand-alone movie centred on the fan-favourite bounty hunter.

He first appeared in 1978's animated Star Wars Holiday Special but never went on to be thoroughly developed as a character. Solo: A Star Wars Story is in theaters everywhere this weekend.

Oscar-nominated filmmaker James Mangold is on board to write and direct the motion picture, according to The Hollywood Reporter. But the studio has been developing its slate of character-driven standalone Star Wars films for a while now.

President Trump Praises NFL Owners For New National Anthem Policy
The changes are the latest development in a polarizing debate that began with Colin Kaepernick kneeling during the anthem in 2016. The new rules , which were announced by Commissioner Roger Goodell , require any players on the field to stand in respect.

The fan-favorite bounty hunter rose to prominence following his debut in The Empire Strikes Back. Fett succeeded in his mission and took Han Solo back to Jabba's Palace, where he would meet an untimely end in the Sarlac Pitt.

In Attack of the Clones, Obi-Wan met a young Fett, who later witnessed the death of his own father (Jango Fett, also a bounty hunter) at the hands of Jedi Master Mace Windu.
