Maryland Democratic gubernatorial candidate dies suddenly

Baltimore County police issued a statement that Kevin Kamenetz died early Thursday morning at St Joseph Medical Center after suffering from cardiac arrest. He was 60-years-old and leaves behind a wife and two teenage sons. "My sincerest thoughts and prayers are with Jill and his two sons".

Kamenetz, who had been in local and state politics for almost 25 years, had strong name recognition and a good track record in his jurisdiction. Kamenetz served 16 years as a Baltimore County council member before becoming county executive.
