The storms track quickly southeast of Syracuse and also strengthen.

Hundreds of people are without power in Columbia and Greene Counties after severe storms hit the area late Tuesday afternoon.

Although the storm is moving quickly east, severe thunderstorm watches remain in effect from Washington, D.C.to Philadelphia and New York City to Boston.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of the area through 9 p.m. Monday, May 14. This part of New Hampshire is almost 100 miles from the weather service radars in Gray, Maine and Taunton, Massachusetts.

They have also issued an Enhanced Risk for severe storms throughout the Poconos.
