Aretha Franklin funeral program released

When the lights came back up, she added, "We love you Aretha".

Yesterday, fans strolled by the casket, some in tears; one woman blew a kiss to Franklin, who was surrounded by massive arrangements of roses of different hues.

Franklin's final goodbye kicked off on Tuesday, with hundreds of people flocking to pay their respects at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. "Michelle and I send our prayers and warmest sympathies to her family and all those moved by her song".

Aretha has been a constant in her life. On Tuesday, she had donned a red cocktail dress and shiny red stilettos on her feet, which were crossed.

On the inside of the lid, embroidered into the fabric, read "Aretha Franklin the Queen of Soul".

Two blocks away near the back of the queue, past... "I was like, 'How are you a real person?' It's an honor to have met her, and we're gonna celebrate her".

Mourners poured into the museum to pay their final respects to Franklin, who died August 16 of pancreatic cancer at the age of 76.

Reflecting the singer's strong gospel root, the memorial service will also be attended by Stevie Wonder, Faith Hill, Chaka Khan, Fantasia, Jennifer Hudson, Jennifer Holliday, Ronald Isley, Yolanda Adams, Pastor Shirley Caesar and Aretha's son Edward Franklin.

What the 18-time Grammy victor will be wearing each day is a "surprise", Swanson said. "We had a great night". But this week that situation was remedied when the 2007 recording of Franklin's rousing, political anthem "Stand Up For Yourself" was released online by the American Association of Retired People. "Love her, came so far to represent the city of New Orleans for her".

"I tend to be a very organized person", Owens said.

So how are they holding it all together and getting it all done? Who would do that? "Stick with us to the end".

The Central Pacific gets few hurricanes and tropical storms; the Atlantic or Eastern Pacific usually see many more named storms. Though the storm was expected to turn west, which would lessen the threat to the islands, federal authorities urged caution.

For all the formality, however, Owens said the viewings are meant to be welcoming and accessible for her legions of fans.

She wore all pink as a tribute to Franklin, who died of cancer.

UNIDENTIFIED PERSON: I'm going to keep feeling real good.

Some of the fanfare outside went too far for some.

Former President Bill Clinton, Tyler Perry, Rev. Al Sharpton, and the Detroit Mayor and Michigan Governor are also scheduled to speak at the Friday service.

"Aretha may have passed on to a better place, but the gift of her music remains to inspire us all".

Felicia Phillips, 57, who queued up at 5 am for what she described as about 20 seconds of viewing time, was drying her tears as she left the museum. Cameras and other electronic devices were prohibited, and visitors were not permitted to bring in handbags.

"What we wanted to do is be reflective of the Queen", Green said.

"She was just so down to earth".
