McIlroy Looking Forward To WGC Bridgestone Event

Tiger Woods is near the top of the leaderboard again.

All of the world's top-50 players are set to compete at the World Golf Championships (WGC)-Bridgestone Invitational this week with eight-time champion Tiger Woods among those vying for glory.

The sport's most popular golfer appeared to pick up right where he left off.

The birdie putt pulled up inches short and Woods finally paid for some wayward driving when he was unable to scramble par on his final hole after finding a fairway bunker off the tee.

Yeah, he's still got it.

But the 35-year-old Italian arrives with new confidence after his triumph at Carnoustie, a major breakthrough that followed on the heels of a dominant victory at the Quicken Loans National and a tie for second at the John Deere Classic.

"This event has been very special to me over the years, and it's sad to see it leave Firestone", Woods said.

Trump to Keep Kelly as His Chief of Staff Through 2020
That's according to three White House officials Tuesday, who were not authorized to speak publicly about private conversations. Kelly, who hit his one-year mark in the White House on Monday, had been expected to step aside as early as this summer.

In fact, Woods' last professional win came at the 2013 WGC-Bridgestone. Both McIlroy and Woods can be lethal at this course.

"I've had an opportunity to win a couple times this year".

Woods, whose jump to No. 50 got him into the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational this week, is now planning to play in five of the next six tournaments, including next week's PGA Championship in St. Louis. "I mean honestly we couldn't have got it easier this morning, no wind, very soft - you had to hit very poor shots to get it off line or to miss greens".

"When I go to tournaments, it's about myself now, how I perform and try to play my best", said Kiradech. He has won it eight times, a PGA Tour record for most victories on the same golf course. He showed up well to finish T8 in the BMW PGA Championship, impressed when T12 in the U.S. Open at Shinnecock and shot a third-round 64 when 1T4 at the Scottish Open in mid-July. I had a great chance at Valspar early in the year, and even a week ago I had a great shot at it. But before I become too emotional, let's jump into the course.

His pre-season goal to make it all the way to the season-ending TOUR Championship at East Lake next month?

However, Woods then ran up a double bogey on the 11th and dropped another shot on the 12th and eventually finished three shots behind playing partner Francesco Molinari. But I also want to play well and win tournaments through this.

Asked about playing in the Ryder Cup the following week, Woods said he'd have no problem playing two matches in a day if asked.
