Body of 3rd victim of Colorado River boat crash recovered

Divers with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department are brought back to the Topoc Marina on the Colorado River while searching for three people still missing from a boat collision Saturday night on the River.

The body of a California woman who was among the four missing after two boats collided head-on in the Colorado River has been found, authorities said.

The victim was as identified as Christi Lewis, 51, from California, the Mohave County Sheriff's Office of Arizona said in a Facebook post.

Mortensen says Lewis was a California resident, but her hometown hasn't been determined.

"These efforts will continue until all of those who are missing and unaccounted for have been located", Shuster told reporters.

One person was airlifted to the University Medical Centre of Southern Nevada with life-threatening injuries.

The smash happened in Moabi Regional Park, a popular water recreation area situated about 290 miles east of Los Angeles. Nine people were injured, officials said. The river's depth ranges from shallow to 30 feet deep, Sherwin said.

The search resumed Sunday, but authorities said the toll of missing had risen to four at that point. ABC News reports the passengers were not wearing life jackets. Water and shoreline searches continue in addition to dive operations, with a search area an estimated 2 miles in circumference.

Authorities closed off a stretch of the river where the search was taking place.

Other passengers are believed to have jumped into the water and been carried down river.

The search included helicopters and divers.

Hours before Drury's body was discovered, authorities said they located the remains of 50-year-old Brian Grabowski of Tulare.
