Mac Miller Dead at 26 After Apparent Drug Overdose

Law enforcement sources say that the platinum-selling rapper was found around noon at his San Fernando Valley home and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mac Miller had struggled with substance abuse for a number of years, and shortly after his breakup with Ariana Grande, he crashed his auto into a power pole.

At the time, his ex-girlfriend, Ariana Grande, voiced her concern when she tweeted, "Pls take care of yourself", adding to speculation that Miller's battle with sobriety had caused a strain on their relationship.

The rapper was just profiled in Vulture, after the release of his fifth studio album, Swimming. "I'm a human being", Miller told Zane Lowe on Beats 1 on Apple Music in July. You're 19, you're so excited to put out your first album, you put it out - and no one has any respect for you or for what you did...

Mac Miller's name is now trending on Twitter, following news of his death.

Miller, whose real name is Malcolm McCormick, started his journey in music as a teenager by putting out mixtapes in his native Pittsburgh. Grande went on to date "Saturday Night Live" actor Pete Davidson, to whom she's now engaged.

"Rest In Peace to the great soul Mac Miller", wrote J Cole on Twitter.

By 2010, he became a star, playing American clubs on a sold-out tour and collaborating with the likes of The Cool Kids and hip-hop heavyweights like Just Blaze and 9th Wonder. "That's what I was experiencing at the time". He began his career as a rapper as a teen, and his independent 2011 debut album Blue Slide Park went on to top the Billboard 200 album chart, putting him on the map at an early age.

Miller's final Instagram Story included video clips of him performing his song "Hurt Feelings" on stage. "I'm completely broken. God bless him".

This is all obviously still very fresh, but we'll bring you more news as it develops.
