NASA Footage Shows Strengthening Hurricane Florence From Space

Florence is now a powerful Category 3 storm with winds of 125mph, and is expected to strengthen before making landfall along the Carolina coast later this week.

Hurricane Florence has reportedly been causing 80-plus feet waves.

The storm is on track to hit the Carolinas and mid-Atlantic region as early as Thursday, according to the hurricane centre.

NASA's infrared data shows the strengthening eye in angry red, glaring from the center of the image.

Hurricane Florence, on its way across the Atlantic Ocean toward North Carolina, dominates photos and video from the International Space Station, where astronauts are using wide-angle lenses because of how far the storm extends.

That heavy rainfall was confirmed in NASA infrared imagery the next day, Monday, Sept. 10. In those areas, MODIS found coldest cloud tops had temperatures near minus 70 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 56.6 degrees Celsius).

Storm "Florence" promises to be the most powerful in 30 years. Temperatures that cold were also found in fragmented bands of storms south of Florence's center.

Apple just introduced a brand-new Apple Watch, the Apple Watch Series 4
Apple studied natural falls and discovered repeatable patterns which can be analysed and diagnosed as a fall by the Series 4 chip. There's also a new accelerometer and gyroscope that Apple reckons can sample motion data up to eight times faster than Series 3 .

"Ever stared down the gaping eye of a category 4 hurricane?" he said.

Satellite data indicate that maximum sustained winds have increased to near 115 miles per hour (185 kph) with higher gusts.

"Hurricane 1 category Isaac is on the way to the Small Antilles, weakened, and on September 13 will move into the Eastern Caribbean sea".

The massive storm is threatening the East Coast of the United States with an expected landfall early Friday.

Hurricanes have a life cycle, moving from tropical storm to full-on hurricane.

Florence is predicted to make an overnight landfall Friday west of Wilmington, NC.
