Hope Hicks Joins Fox as Head of Communications

The former White House Communications Director is headed to New Fox, the company that emerged when Twentieth-Century Fox left behind several of its assets to merge with Disney. Company insiders who spoke with Variety expressed concern that Hicks - who once, according to the New York Times, admitted to House of Representatives investigators that she sometimes told so-called white lies on behalf of President Donald Trump - could prove a divisive presence in the company. Trump is an outspoken fan of Fox News, often promoting their programming on his Twitter feed.

Fox Chief Legal and Policy Officer Viet Dinh released a statement about the decision to hire Hicks and Danny O'Brien. Fox also announced on Monday that Danny O'Brien, former executive vice president and head of government relations for GE Transportation, will join the company in that same role.

Before the deal closes, expected next year, Fox will separate the Fox Broadcasting network and stations, including Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network, into a newly listed company.

Former Clinton White House press secretary Dee Dee Myers now serves as Warner Bros.' executive vice president for corporate communications and public affairs.

"So happy for my friend", she tweeted. Although he is famous for the term "fake news", Trump has continually supported Fox News and its reporting. "They are beyond lucky to have you and the East Coast misses you already".
