Samsung Galaxy A8S smartphone gets WiFi certification

For those unaware, Samsung first showcased a smartphone - Galaxy A8s - with edge-to-edge screens on all the sides with a camera hole right on the display itself at the China launch event of Galaxy A9s and Galaxy A6s.

Verizon Communications Inc and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd on Monday confirmed long-held industry expectations they would seek to steal a march on Apple Inc by launching USA 5G smartphones in the first half of 2019.

Samsung has published a poster on Weibo announcing that the Galaxy A8s smartphone will launch on December 10. The company is now preparing to expand this line-up of devices with the launch of the Huawei Nova 4. While the leaked poster doesn't show the Huawei Nova 4, it is likely to adopt a similar front design as the Infinity-O display cut-out on its left corner as seen on Samsung's Developer Conference last month.

Huawei has just announced that its very first smartphone with a display camera hole will be announced on December 17. Today, the Chinese manufacturer confirmed that it will launch the Huawei Nova 4 on December 17.

Huawei Nova 4, on the other hand, is also expected to include 6GB RAM, an in-display fingerprint sensor. The O-shaped camera hole replaces the notch, and it's a lot easier on the eyes than any notch out there. On the back, it will house a triple camera setup- 24MP primary sensor, 10MP wide-angle sensor, 5MP depth sensor to produce good quality images.

The images, which appear to be based on CAD drawings of the phone from multiple sources, show a Galaxy S10 that we can't quite make our minds up on.

Reports suggest at least one Galaxy S10 model will come equipped with five cameras (three in the rear, two in front) including a 16MP, 120-degree ultra wide-angle lens.

Display-wise, a 6.44-inch, 1440 x 2960 pixel Super AMOLED looks to be in the mix, with a 511 PPI density. It is expected to be powered by a 3,400mAh battery and sport a USB Type-C port. Of course all will become a lot clearer as the release date approaches.
