Lefties Threaten To Boycott Starbucks If CEO Runs For President

Matthew Gertz, a fellow at the nonprofit Media Matters for America, noted conservative enthusiasm for a Schultz run and wrote: "It should surprise no one that the people most favourably disposed to a Howard Schultz independent presidential run are the ones who want to see Trump re-elected".

Howard Wolfson, an adviser to billionaire Michael Bloomberg - who is also considering running for president - also said that a high-profile independent candidate could help Trump. "Our nation faces a serious crisis due to the actions of Donald Trump, and you would split the vote against him". I only hope that Starbucks is still paying me their rent in Trump Tower!'

During the "60 Minutes" interview, though, Schultz ducked the question of whether his independent run would help Trump's re-election.

According to Castro, "I don't think that would be in the best interest of our country". "I want to see America win", Schultz told CBS. If he thinks that he can successfully run on denying things from the American people-then I think he should definitely take the plunge.

Schultz has authored a new book called From the Ground Up, which is a memoir and is set to be released this week. I've been a lifelong Democrat. Under his leadership, the coffee giant embraced technology and new ideas with enthusiasm, adopting mobile order ahead, turning the Starbucks Rewards app into a big revenue generator, and even innovating in instant coffee. He added that he would be open to fresh ideas because he was "not in bed with any political party".

With the 2020 election cycle now in full swing, Mr. Trump hasn't hesitated to offer his opinions on the emerging candidates.

The captains will be LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo , who received the most fan votes in their respective conference. Golden State Warriors guard Curry, as the captain of the West, chose Harden, Giannis, Embiid and DeMar DeRozan.

Howard Wolfson, who now works for the Bloomberg Foundation, tweeted on Sunday that any third-party candidate would disproportionately threaten the Democratic nominee, whoever he or she is, in the 2020 presidential election.

No independent candidate in US history has ever won the presidency. Our two parties are divided more than ever.

Schultz said he was for "fair and equitable" immigration reform including a way for undocumented migrants to become USA citizens; supported the Paris climate accord; backed healthcare for all, though not free; and thought tax reform should help the poorest in society. " Tina Podlodowski, chair of the Washington state Democratic Party, told The Times that Schultz is selfish and that his presidential goals aren't "about bringing people together".

"We are sitting today with approximately $21.5 trillion of debt", Schultz said. In April, Starbucks came under fire after the arrest of two black patrons at a cafe in Philadelphia, forcing the company and Schultz to apologize.

Schultz also details in the book his decades building Starbucks into the ubiquitous brand it is today and explains why, in 2011, he made a decision to speak out as CEO about controversial social issues including politics, race, and LGBTQ rights.
