Trump blasts Federal Bureau of Investigation probe into whether he worked for Russian Federation

President Donald Trump has avoided giving a direct answer when asked if he now is or has ever worked for Russian Federation after a published report said his behavior gave federal law enforcement officials reason to begin investigating whether he had worked for the us adversary.

On Monday, Trump also defended his decision to fire FBI Director James Comey, a move that has drawn Mueller's scrutiny.

When Pirro asked if he had ever worked for Russia, Trump said it was "the most insulting thing I've ever been asked".

Trump also tried to defend his actions with Russian Federation, saying, "I've been tougher on Russian Federation than anybody else - any other - probably any other president, period, but certainly the last three or four presidents".

Mr. Trump spent the snowy weekend in Washington lashing out on Twitter and Fox News against Democrats, and over explosive reports in the Washington Post and New York Times raising further questions about his relationship with the Kremlin.

Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., said on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday that whether Trump ever worked on behalf of Moscow is "the defining question" of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence's investigation.

Trump responded to the reporting in a phone interview with Fox News' Jeanine Pirro on Saturday night.

"When I see Lisa, and her lover, and their notes, and their texts get captured and you see what they said about me having nothing to do with investigation", Trump said. Counterintelligence investigators had to consider whether the president's own actions constituted a possible threat to national security.

The MoD and the British Army were not immediately able to say if the performance was a tribute to the film's success. The 15-year-old later added: "My thoughts on this - please educate me in the future if I do something problematic".

In their message to Trump, the chairmen of the Intelligence, Judiciary and Oversight committees say: "Our nation's laws prohibit efforts to discourage, intimidate, or otherwise pressure a witness not to provide testimony to Congress".

Robert Mueller took over the investigation when he was appointed special counsel soon after Comey's firing. According to the report, those concerns led to the opening of a counterintelligence investigation, as well as a criminal probe focused on the question of whether Comey's firing amounted to obstruction of justice.

Rep. Eliot Engel, D-N.Y., chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, told NPR that he too wants to find out more about Trump's relationships with Russian Federation and that his committee would convene hearings to that end.

"You don't need me and McCarthy to make it", Dershowitz said.

Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani told the Times he had no knowledge of the inquiry but said that since it was opened a year and a half ago and they hadn't heard anything, apparently "they found nothing". As it turns out, it appears Federal Bureau of Investigation officials recognized that while Comey's termination may have had bad optics and needed to be looked at, it was not necessarily evidence that the president was actually working with Russian Federation.

Officials also told the Post that they never received a full, detailed account of Trump's meeting with Putin in Helsinki in July 2018.

"He really lied", Trump told assembled reporters. You sit with the president of various countries.
