Lakers fall to 76ers, Harden's double-double not enough

Lakers fall to 76ers, Harden's double-double not enough

Without LeBron James, Lonzo Ball, and Kyle Kuzma in the lineup, Brandon Ingram took center stage in Los Angeles last night as the former Duke Blue Devil poured in a career high 36 points despite the Lakers loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.

The game couldn't have gotten off to a worse start, but luckily the Lakers turned it around and made it somewhat watchable.

Philadelphia 76ers guard/forward Jimmy Butler scored 20 points (7-of-9 field goals, 5-of-6 free throws) with 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 steals, 1 block, 1 3-pointer, and 1 turnover in 28.6 minutes of a 121-105 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.

After the loss, the Lakers slipped to 26-25 for the season and are ninth in the Western Conference standings, two games behind the Los Angeles Clippers, who now occupy the last playoff berth in the conference.

The Lakers have not been involved in the playoffs since 2012-13, when they were swept by the San Antonio Spurs in the first round, and LeBron's arrival was meant to guarantee the end of that run.

At issue are allegations that Chinese companies are stealing intellectual property from US tech companies. She was arrested in early December by Canadian authorities at the request of the U.S. government.

Although James continue to progress well in his recovery, the Lakers have not set any sort of expectation for his return, nor do they intend to do so.

Stop me if you've heard this one before, but the Lakers had a hard time taking care of the ball. He was far and away the Lakers' best player and has been for the month of January.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in decent form as they've won four of their last six games but they will be aiming to bounce back after falling just short in a 123-118 home loss to the Hawks on Monday.

"He looked good today", Walton told the media after practice. He looked good two days ago in practice (too), so we'll see how he feels (Thursday). "We'll keep prepping as if he's not going to play and hope that he's healthy enough to play".
