Unai Emery relieved to end Arsenal's run of away defeats

Following victory over Huddersfield Town, Arsenal boss Unai Emery spoke of his side's chances of finishing in the top four and qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.

In the absence of the Greek global, Arsenal have been leaking goals like insane and if the Gunners lose their game vs Huddersfield then they might very well fall six points behind the top-four spot.

In the glass-half-empty world that Arsenal supporters now inhabit, here was a routine enough victory, courtesy of first-half goals from Alex Iwobi and Alexandre Lacazette, but one that underlined the huge task still facing Unai Emery.

However, Jurgen Klopp's men were back to their best as they swept Bournemouth aside, with Sadio Mane, Georginio Wijnaldum and Mohamed Salah all finding the back of the net in style.

"And our target is this, knowing we need to take the regularity at home and away above all".

You have to feel sorry for Huddersfield and their new manager Jan Siewert after they played their hearts out to try and get their first win in 12 games.

Acting AG Whitaker tells House panel he hasn't interfered with Mueller probe
The letter declared Whitaker wouldn't appear before the panel, unless members withdrew a subpoena, compelling his testimony. Democrats repeatedly accused Whitaker of running out the clock by giving them evasive or rambling answers in the hearing.

Emery added: "I think today every player worked a lot, we continued our way and we know it's hard because the other teams in the top four are very strong. After 26 games, we are on our way and our motivation is very great and we've brought our target closer".

Arsenal have missed out on a top-four finish in their last two Premier League seasons. "It was important for us to win and also to win away".

"Defensively they are one of the worst sides I've ever seen in the top six of the Premier League", former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson said.

"I am very happy".

Arsenal now have back to back Europa League matches against BATE Borisov before Premier League action returns in two weeks. "I think today I am very proud with our work".
