Yankees' Aaron Judge Wants Team to Pursue Bryce Harper

Yankees' Aaron Judge Wants Team to Pursue Bryce Harper

Both of these players are All-Stars with great offensive talents and defensive abilities.

With pitchers and catchers across the league reporting for Spring Training in less than one week, Bryce Harper and Manny Machado shockingly remain available on the free-agent market. Extent of interest on team's part not known, but they did try hard for Stanton last winter.

It's unclear if the Yankees will re-enter the race to sign Harper.

TMZ ended up catching up with Judge where they asked him about the possibility of bringing Harper into the lineup and if it would be a good idea.

Harper is in the 11th hour of his existing one-year deal with the Nationals, but he is still seeking a long term contract. Phillies owner John Middleton said in November that the club was prepared to spend "stupid money" this off-season. "If he goes to the Phillies, that's probably going to be the most money, but he'd like to be on the West Coast".

Considering their mini-slump as a franchise, the lack of outfield depth that Miller mentioned and the fact that the price for Harper has conceivably fallen precipitously from what his projected contract was, it makes sense that the Giants would want to get involved. "That's just not my personality, that's not my cup of tea, that's not who I am".

Who or what is to blame for why they're still unsigned? The teams interested in the 26-year-old, based on media reports and people with knowledge of the situation, look to be the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago White Sox, Washington Nationals, San Diego Padres and the Giants, as of this week. After signing former Gold Glove award victor Troy Tulowitzki and DJ Lemahieu, the Yankees do not look like they will be signing Machado.
