George Foreman Shares Emotional Tribute Following Daughter Freeda's Death at Age 42

Freeda Foreman, 42, the daughter of George Foreman, 70, was shockingly found dead by a family member in her home in the area of Houston, TX on March 10, TMZ reported.

She was found unresponsive, and homicide detectives said that no foul play was suspected in her death.

In 2000, she set out to follow in her father's footsteps, becoming a middleweight boxer. She retired the following year with a record of 5-1 so that she could raise a family and become a boxing promoter.

She is survived by her husband, two daughters, three grandchildren, her parents, and 11 brothers and sisters.

The 42-year-old, who was a professional boxer, is thought to have been found hanging by a relative, police said.

George Foreman confirmed her death on Twitter on Sunday night, posting a picture of them at her college graduation.

Freeda Foreman is one of three notable people who have died by suicide in the past week. Athough a final cause of death will be made by the coronor, it is believed she hanged herself. All of her brothers are named George, and Freeda's middle name was George, too.

She opened up to The New York Times in February of 2000 about her career in the ring, telling the paper that her father did "not exactly embrace" her efforts. "It's something I always really loved". He praised her for pursuing her education and managing a family in addition to her boxing career. Per her LinkedIn page, Freeda was studying studied criminal justice at Sam Houston State. She also provided vocals on a 2003 Family Guy episode.

He's also associated with the George Foreman Grill.
