Huawei MateBook X Pro, Portable MateBook 13, Matebook 14 Launched At MWC

Now, a year later at the MWC 2019, Huawei has announced the second gen of the Matebook X Pro laptop along with the Matebook 14 and Matebook 13.

However, the MateBook X Pro took eight months to (officially) reach the United Kingdom, and Huawei knows it needs to move faster. Image Source: Chris Smith, BGR I've saved the best new feature of the MateBook X Pro, and of the new MateBook models, for last because there are two caveats you should be aware of. By offering a more expansive perspective and high performance, the stunning notebook set a new benchmark for flagship notebooks and redefined the industry standard for displays.

Unfortunately, Huawei isn't yet discussing price for the MateBook 14, though the laptop will be available in the USA this May, with a wider release to follow.

Worthy of a mention as well is the fact that Huawei's laptops have a screen ratio of 3:2, giving the user more screen space to work with, all without widening the size of the chassis. What better place to place it under one of the keys on the F row like on the MateBook X Pro?

Huawei took another step forward with the first HUAWEI MateBook ever and equipped it with a 2K+ display.

Trump Backs Public Release Of Mueller Report
In December, 80% of self-identified Democrats said they were in favor of impeachment - that now stands at 68%, a 12-point dip. The House voted unanimously last week for a resolution calling for any report in Mueller's investigation to be made public .

Meanwhile the Matebook 14 will come in two forms, both with 8GB RAM, 512GB storage, and MFX 250 GFX. It's hard to accurately cut contents into a screen shot with a pudgy index finger. Along with the MateBook X, Huawei also revealed the MateBook 14, a laptop that features less powerful hardware, including a lower resolution display, but a similar design, and a refreshed version of the MateBook 13.

The Huawei MateBook X Pro is powered by up to an 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 8565 processor and NVIDIA® GeForce® MX250 GPU with 2GB GDDR5.

The MateBook 14 aims to serve as a single step beneath the X Pro for consumers that want the same amount of power without arguably superfluous features. The intelligent filtering technology monitors the system temperature and manages the fans in real-time, smoothing the fan curve and ensuring quiet operation. That, the company says, is good for up to 13 hours of video playback, up to 14 hours of office apps, or up to 12 hours of web browsing. The same OneHop program allows users to record the screens of their phone or laptop, share copied texct between clipboards and more. It's neat, tidy, and wonderfully geeky - as is the fingerprint scanner built into the power button. Combined with BIOS optimizations; this innovative solution streamlines the device boot-up experience and lets users jump right back into action. Dolby Atmos creates an incredible headphone experience with breathtaking, moving audio that flows above and around you.

Huawei has a new laptop for professionals and this year, it will really be able to scale up to the task. It redefines the standard for display, performance, cross-platform interconnection in the 13-inch mainstream notebook segment. However, in the spirit of a lower price, the screen isn't almost as sharp, at 2,160 x 1,440 pixels, and the display's contrast ratio (1,000:1) and brightness (300 nits) are a bit lowered in comparison. Both notebooks support new convenience features like Fingers Gestures Screenshot, indicative of a consumer-first ethos. The new laptops will be available in several markets later this year, with prices and availability details to be announced at a later date. Still fiercely competitive, Huawei reps reassure me, but not quite as much of a bargain as the old model was.

But to me, the biggest upgrade to the MateBook X Pro is its new optional Nvidia MX250 GPU.
