Met Office issues yellow weather warnings for snow and wind across Wales

A Met Office spokeswoman said: "A band of rain, sleet and snow, accompanied by gusty winds, will move eastwards across Northern Ireland during the early hours of Sunday and then continue into Scotland and parts of northern England. Poor visibility, with slippery and icy conditions, will occur at times". WEATHER DETAILS BELOW TWEETs.

The Met Office's Becky Mitchell said: "It is going to turn colder towards the end of the week and this cold air will stay with us, particularly in the north, into the middle of the month". Wind: NE 5-10. Low: 30.

Exmoor will see snow from 6pm on Sunday turning to sleet later in the night. Light variable winds, becoming fresh to strong westerly, with gales developing on Atlantic coasts towards dawn.

And yet another storm system is forecast to bring more rain and snow to the region next Tuesday and Wednesday. Some of that rain could mix with some sleet initially; however, surface temperatures should remain above 32 to ward off freezing rain. Parts of the Lake Cumberland area are under a marginal risk (1 out of 5) for severe storms, so we'll be keeping a close eye on that.

On Sunday night wintry showers will gradually become more isolated and become confined to the west and north overnight.

It's a chilly start to the weekend, but temperatures will improve by Saturday thanks to mostly sunny skies.

This will be very heavy, wet, slushy, nearly concrete-style snow, unlike what we saw in February. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees.

Friday will be dry and cloudy with quiet weather and temperatures higher in the mid-30s. The high for Sunday will be near 6 C.

What about the weather this weekend? Conditions may be breezy with 2-4 inches possible.
